Frequently asked questions

  • What is a Mental Health Coach?
As a Mental Health Coach, I help individuals with mild-to-moderate symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress, improve their mental health and wellbeing. I work with clients to identify and develop their goals, help them overcome challenges and provide support and guidance throughout the process. I use a holistic approach while also using many different types of therapies depending on the individual needs. My approach is present-to-future focused to help clients move forward with a life that aligns with their values and goals.
  • Who is Mental Health Coaching for?
Mental Health Coaching is for anyone, at any age, who wants to improve their mental health and wellbeing in some way. You may feel anxious, depressed, stressed, overwhelmed or just "off" and are looking for guidance and support in making positive changes.
  • Where are coaching sessions held?
Coaching sessions are held either in person or online via Zoom. This allows for flexibility and convenience for clients, who can have sessions from the comfort of their own home or office anywhere in the country.
  • Are coaching sessions confidential?
Yes, absolutely. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the coaching process. As a professional coach, I understand the importance of maintaining the privacy and integrity of my clients' personal information. All conversations and information shared during coaching sessions are strictly confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone without the client's explicit permission. This creates a safe and supportive environment for clients to share their deepest thoughts, feelings, and concerns, without fear of judgment or repercussion. Rest assured that your privacy is always respected and protected when you work with me as your coach.
  • How many coaching sessions will I need?
The number of coaching sessions required varies from person to person, depending on their specific needs and goals. During your initial consultation, we will discuss your objectives and develop a plan that suits your unique circumstances. Some clients may benefit from just a few sessions, while others may require a longer-term commitment. I offer flexible coaching packages tailored to your individual needs, so you can decide how many sessions are right for you.
  • What do I need to know before my first coaching session?
Before your first coaching session, there are a few things you should keep in mind: 1. Be open and honest: To get the most out of your coaching sessions, it is important to be open and honest with me. You need to be willing to share your thoughts, feelings, and goals so that your coach can understand your needs and develop an effective coaching plan. 2. Come prepared: Before your session, take some time to think about what you want to focus on during your coaching session. This could be a specific problem you are facing or a goal you want to achieve. Write down any questions you may have for me and bring them with you to your session. 3. Set realistic expectations: Coaching is a process that takes time and effort. While I can provide guidance, support, tools and so much more, it is up to you to do the work required to achieve your goals. Be realistic about what you can accomplish in each session and understand that progress may take time. It's not a race!
  • What's the difference between mental health coaching and therapy?
Mental Health Coaching and Therapy are both helpful resources for personal growth and wellbeing, but they have different focuses and approaches. Therapy typically focuses on past issues and how they impact current thoughts patterns and behaviours. Although we touch on this a bit in coaching, the focus is more on the now and how clients can overcome current problems.
